The Final Missing Puzzle Piece: How Beasts of Aryas Helped Create Pulp Fiction Renaissance!

On January 22, 2021, I began Pulp Fiction Renaissance.

I was very unhappy with the political situation in the country, and gave up any aspirations of being involved in it.

Consequently, I decided to cut loose and turn my hand to my true passion…the Mythology behind the History and the Politics that dominate the books and the headlines.

Pulp Fiction!

Around the same time I began this endeavor, my good friend James Lafond was in the process of writing a very interesting book, Beasts of Aryas

WARRIOR CULTURE CREATION

In the weeks leading up to Pulp Fiction Renaissance’s creation, James Lafond and I both appeared on the now-defunct podcast Rusty’s Vignettes

There, we discussed some of the things that James Lafond had been researching for Beasts of Aryas, and it struck quite a chord with me.

His research resonated with things I had been reading in his other works over the past year that paralleled my own research of nearly half-a-decade…

Confrontational vs. Predatory Warrior Culture.

Between his new research and my old research, I figured that I had a rock solid mental model on my hands that made a lot of sense to me…

And it was the conceptual framework I needed to pull the trigger on creating Pulp Fiction Renaissance!

But little did I know that I was missing something…

THAT SINKING FEELING

If you’ve been around here for a while, chances are you’ve come across my many breakdowns of Confrontational vs. Predatory Warrior Culture.

You’ve probably seen it in articles like:

And I know you’ve most definitely seen it in my flagship banner article: “The Eagle & The Snake: The Secret Key to Pulp Fiction”!

But over the last two years, I’ve had a sinking feeling that I didn’t have the complete picture.

As the days, weeks, and months have worn on, that sinking feeling has gotten worse and worse…

Especially after I read Claire Nakti’s insightful articles, “The Binding Power of Saturnian Individuals” and “The Three Stages of Enemies on the Path of Individuation”.

But what was it that I was missing?

I would find my answer in a snowstorm…

ON THE ICY FRINGES OF THE FROZEN NORTH

Fast forward to 12-09-2025.

I was sitting in my brother’s car at the end of a long work day, because I had wrecked mine on an icy snow hill and was getting the replacement fixed.

Snow was coming down, and I was warming up in the driver’s seat, phone in hand.

I was talking to my old pal James Lafond.

He was riding a train like the Great Depression Era Hobo he is, and we were swapping many a-true tale and astute observation alike.

And then he said something that made me jump up out of my seat…

BEASTS OF ARYAS UNLEASHED!

He began telling me about an Ancient Indo-European Civil War between Western Aryans and Eastern Woodland Aryans fought in the proto-mythic forests of Europe with a few savage Neanderthal in tow…

And the Blood Magic in my veins was ablaze!

“James!” I bated breathless, “Would you be interested in doing an article on this?”

My gaze narrowed keenly as it calculated the possibilities.

James Lafond just laughed.

“I already have!” he blurted out. “I’ve written a whole book about it, Beasts of Aryas! It’s on my website as an e-book!”

“Well then I’m buying it tonight!” I affirmed.

THE 3 STEPS SYSTEM

It would be a few days before I could fulfill my promise…but I did.

And I was not disappointed.

For on pages 16-17 of the ebook, I struck a gold mine that would answer my nagging question and quell that sinking feeling for good!

“What came to typify Aryan warfare above other forms was a trinity,”James Lafond wrote:

  1.  “Manipulation of the enemy by herding them through terror, maneuver and trickery, using horses and dogs…”
  1. “Intensified by the willingness to risk all in close combat…”
  1. “Facilitated by clan-based and tribal leadership and cohesion, with unit identity, identification of subordinate leaders as brothers with rights…”

When I read that, it hit me like a brick through a plate glass window.

MY MISSING PUZZLE PIECE

It hit me because I knew that I had covered only 2 out of 3 of the 3 Key Points!

Sure, I had covered Point 2…I call it “up-front, mano-a-mano, straight-shooting”.

And of course, I had covered Point 3…I explained in the past that it is “This is reflected in the Indo-European peoples…representative rule tradition of the leader as ‘First Among Equals’…”

I even further noted on this point that:

“This concept  is symbolized by the Circle: King Arthur had the circular Round Table so no man could be above another. This is Individualism in its clearest form.”

But how could I miss Point 1…the most important point of them all?

I wouldn’t miss it for long though, because once I read James Lafond’s passage, all the puzzle pieces I have been collecting for all my life suddenly began to fit together…

SOMETHING DEEPER IN THE SOUL

Point 1 is the foundation of all of it…and it is about more than “Manipulation of the enemy by herding them through terror, maneuver and trickery…”

No, these are merely the end products of something much deeper…something deep within the very soul of the Indo-European Warrior Caste.

And that something is this simple fact:

The Confrontational Heroes of the Indo-European Warrior Caste are separated, set apart, and high above…Kalon, as the Greeks would say, which means “Noble”.

They are separated, set apart, and high above because they live by Order instead of Chaos, according to a Stoic Code of Self-Reliance and Self-Sufficiency.

This is what removes their fear, and creates “terror” in their foe…allowing the Indo-European Heroes to “herd” them into oblivion!

This is what allows the Indo-European Heroes to fight Confrontationally…“up-front, mano-a-mano, straight-shooting”.

While Confrontational Combat is the Action…the separated, set apart, and high above Nobility of the Indo-European Warrior Caste Heroes is the Being that makes the Action of Confrontational Combat possible.

FISH IN A BARREL?

In past articles, I have used a particular phrase to describe the Predatory Foes of the Confrontational Indo-European Warrior Caste.

That phrase is:

“They like shooting fish in a barrel, because they believe the powerlessness of the fish shows off the power of the man with the gun.”

I have to say, I got that backwards…I was wrong!

The reality is, this idea of the fish in the barrel and the man with the gun does not pertain to the Predatory Third World Foes of the Confrontational Indo-European Heroes.

In fact, this idea pertains to the Confrontational Indo-European Heroes themselves!

And this is not a bad thing!

In fact, it’s a very good thing…

Because it’s what makes the fair-minded Confrontational Warrior Culture possible!

HUNTERS AND VICTIMS

The Confrontational Indo-European Heroes have the power of the Man with the Gun because they have chosen to embrace the Stoic Code that creates the separated, set apart, and high above Noble Nature.

This is a Stoic Code that their Predatory Third World Foes reject…and because of this they can only ever have the power of the fish in the barrel.

By their own choice.

This is why the Predatory Third World Foes fight dirty, from the shadows, sneaky, stab-in-the-back.

It’s all they can do.

“There are hunters and there are victims,” Mad Dog Mattis said. “By your discipline, you will decide if you are a hunter or a victim.”

The embrace of the separated, set apart, and high above Noble Nature makes the Indo-European Heroes into the Hunters.

And the rejection of this Noble Nature makes their Predatory Third world Foes into the Victims.

AS IRON SHARPENS IRON

“As iron sharpens iron,” says Proverbs 27:17, NLT, “So a friend sharpens a friend.”

Nowhere I have seen this to be more true than with my good friend, James Lafond.

His work and his friendship has been a major inspiration to me in my own endeavors…

And as we celebrate the Five Year Anniversary of Pulp Fiction Renaissance, I gotta say…

Here’s to my good friend James Lafond, for giving me the final missing puzzle piece!

Now go pick it up for yourself…

And buy his masterpiece Beasts of Aryas today!

Sincerely,

Richard Barrett
